For the last 18 months our industry body has been working on an Environmental Labelling Scheme designed to give credibility to claims by companies that a product is “Green or Environmentally Friendly”. The scheme is not yet active however it is in the final stages of development and certification. Once finalised this scheme will allow for testing and regulation of labelling of any product making environmental or “Green” claims.
This scheme was initiated by the members in our industry including Cleveland Cleaning Supplies calling for verification to enable unsubstantiated claims and green washing to be wiped out by non-reputable companies. Cleveland attended the recent industry meeting held in Haymarket, Sydney where the tenets of the scheme were reviewed.
Once this scheme is launched, product certification of Cleveland's "Eco-friendly" product portfolio will commence. This will include the introduction of Eco labeled products with the credentials to stand behind.
